SaraSpa Memberships are Now Open

Currently we have openings for new members.  New Member Orientation classes have been scheduled for the following dates:

  • ·         October 14th
  • ·         November 18th
  • ·         December 16th
  • ·         January 13th

Class sizes are limited and on a first come/first serve basis.  Once a class fills up, the option to select that date will be removed.

Instructions for registering are below.  Please read this in its entirety before proceeding to ensure you are enrolled properly.

Our new member orientations consist of a club orientation, range walk through and an NRA Class.  All are required without exception to become a member of SaraSpa Rod and Gun Club.  You will need to be at the club at 8 am on the day of orientation/class for processing your photo ID badge.  Classes end at approximately 2 pm.  Signing up is a 2 step process.

Step 1:

You will need to first complete the application here and make payment via credit card or debit/credit card.  New membership dues and fees to join are $205 and include a $25 initiation fee and a $50 building/maintenance fee.  Each year thereafter beginning October 1st  members will pay only their regular dues, currently $125 per year for regular members and $62.50 for seniors (65 and over).

Step 2:

You will receive an automated email after you have signed up and paid your dues, so be sure to check your email and spam folder if you do not receive it.   This email will provide you with a link to the NRA class.  You must register for the class there as well.   No money will be due, but signup is necessary.

Members, who do not complete both steps, will be removed from the class roster.

After completing the above steps and attending the orientation/class, your membership will be activated and you can login as a member.  You will receive your photo ID badge which allows access to the club property at the end of the class.

Save the Date: Spring WorkParty Scheduled for May 19

SaraSpa's spring work party is scheduled for Saturday May 19 beginning at 8:00 am. This is our major effort to get the facilities ready for the summer shooting season. Planned jobs include replacing the target backers on the 50 and if necessary, on the 200 yard range, painting the indoor range, making sure the property is properly posted, trash pick-up along Porter Corners Road and general cleanup around the club. Members are strongly encouraged to help out as volunteer participation reduces the need for the club to hire out work and helps to keep dues reasonable.

March IDPA Qualifier Scheduled

An IDPA Qualifier has been scheduled for Sunday March 25 from noon until 4:00 pm on the indoor range. The range will be closed to open shooting during the event.

The Battle of Saratoga, a Tier 3 IDPA Match Scheduled for April

SaraSpa will host a major IDPA match April 27 through 29. This is an IDPA Featured Match in which shooters will fire 180 required rounds in eleven stages over the course of the weekend.  All ranges will be closed for set up and take down beginning at 12:01 am on Tuesday April 24 and ending at 11:30 pm on Monday April 30.

2018 Guest Waivers Required

Each year, a completed and signed guest waiver is required for all  guests and family members present on SaraSpa property. Waiver forms are located near the sign- in book. Waivers are good for the entire calendar year. Also, all guests other than members' spouses and children under 18 years of age are required to pay a guest fee. Members are responsible for assuring that waivers are completed and that guest fees are paid as well as assuring that guests follow all Standard Operating Procedures and Range Rules.

Post no Bills and Clean up

As renovation of the clubhouse interior nears completion members should take care to avoid damage to the walls and cabinets with gun boxes or cases. Posting of any material on the walls is strictly prohibited.  There is a cork board in the hallway leading to the range for posting items for sale.Cardboard and targets that you hang should not be left on the range or placed in the trashcans. It should be carried out and placed in the dumpster located in the clubhouse parking lot.

Club Bylaws Amended

Article VI, Section 6.3 Quorom and Article XII, Section 12.1 Amendments of the club’s bylaws were amended by an overhelming majority of members voting online and in person at the January 3, 2018 General Membership meeting.  Click here to view a side by side comparison of the old and new language. Range Closures

In addition to regularly scheduled closures for recurring , activities such as IDPA, Bullseye, CCW Qualifiers and Women's Programs ranges are occasionally closed for club events. Following is a list of upcoming event related closures

Help Maintain the Club Environment

In light of our growing membership and the subsequent increased use of the club ranges, members are reminded of the need to keep the club’s facilities in order. To support and provide a safe and clean environment for everyone it is imperative that all members and leagues leave the ranges in the order in which they found them. It is expected that all equipment be returned to its original space after use. For example, tables, archery butts, signs, and backstop foam. Failure to return the club’s facilities to an orderly condition after use will result in action by the Board of Directors against the specific members/leagues involved. Cardboard and targets that you hang should not be left on the range or placed in the trashcans. It should be carried out and placed in the dumpster located in the clubhouse parking lot.
